BAND NAME: Trivium, also referred to as "The Pride of Altamonte Springs, FL"
YOUR NAME/INSTRUMENT: Paolo Francesco Gregoletto, but I will also answer to Thor. I’m the lead bass player of Trivium.
DESCRIBE YOUR NEW ALBUM IN THREE ADJECTIVES AND AN OPTIONAL COLOR: "Shogun" is large, meaty, and filling, and the color that best fits it is a gray lavender.
GEAR ASIDE, WHAT'S THE ONE THING YOU'RE BRINGING WITH YOU ON THIS TOUR THAT YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT AND WHY?
Baby Powder, it make your clothes look cool on stage and you can never be certain you won't develop a case of diaper rash midway through the tour.
WAS THERE A PARTICULAR ALBUM OR CONCERT THAT YOU HEARD OR SAW AS A KID THAT MADE YOU WANT TO MAKE MUSIC FOR A LIVING?
It was a Hall and Oates tribute duo, and it was their riveting rendition of "Maneater" that made me pick up the bass and vow to change the world one dB at a time.
WHAT MAYHEM BAND WOULD YOU LIK E TO JAM WITH? SLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYERRRRRRRRR!!
DO YOU HAVE ANY HABITS THAT ANNOY YOUR BANDMATES?
The only real habits I can think of is drinking way to much coffee and tea, and if ya gotta problem with that, go f*ck yourself - haha.
WHAT'S THE ONE DVD THAT ALWAYS GETS PLAYED ON YOUR TOUR BUS AND WHY?
“Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” is always playing on the bus. I am not sure everyone gets the show—yet—but I’m trying to make them understand this is the best show ever.
WHAT'S ON YOUR iPOD (PICK 5 SONGS AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU LIKE THEM).
I didn't want to seem like I just picked the most "metal" songs to get some cred or whatever the fuck THAT gets you. So I left myself at the mercy of the iPod shuffle and I will try to explain what those songs means to me and why they’re on my iPod. I skipped anything from movie soundtracks, vocal warm ups and any artist repeated more then once.
1) Def Leppard – “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad”
When I’m down, I find the tightest pair of jeans in my closet, throw one of my denim jackets on and sing this all by myself.
2) The Police – “Miss Gradenko”
This band is fucking great, as is this album and song.
3) Trivium – “Insurrection”
How uncool is this, putting a one of my own band’s songs on the list?! This is a speedy little number from "Shogun." Corey (Beaulieu) actually wrote a lot of this one and it’s quickly becoming a crowd favorite at shows. For your health.
4) Coronoer – “Read My Scars”
Can't go wrong with these Swiss avant-garde thrashers. I’d always seen people with Coroner shirts, and had never checked them out. Then I did an interview in Spain and the interviewer dude told me about how badass they are, so I hit them up on iTunes.
5) Mr. Big - “Rock 'n Roll Over” –
All I’m gonna say is Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert.
